We seldom get a snow day where I live but we used to get them all the time when I was growing up in the Midwest and they are some of my most favorite memories from childhood. My dad would take my brothers and me and a car full of kids to a local golf course and we would slide down the hills on an old porcelain washing machine lid or a second-hand sled or whatever we could find, each kid trying to be more creative than the one before – slide backwards! slide standing up backwards! slide three kids in a pyramid! And then we would trudge back up the hill and do it all over again 1000 times.
Maybe it’s snowing where you are? If so, make some fun memories with your kiddos, take lots of pictures and celebrate the joy that is snow!
